CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif to Launch Yellow Line, e-Taxi & Solar Electric Charging Stations in Lahore

Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif chaired a special meeting in which a detailed briefing was given on the mass transit projects. A feasibility study report of the Yellow Line Mass Transit System was presented in the meeting. She directed to start work on the Yellow Line project from the Jinnah Terminal up to Harbanspora at the earliest.
The Chief Minister was apprised about the details regarding eco-friendly e-taxi project in Punjab. She approved in principle financial model of the e-taxi project and it was agreed to launch a pilot project with 1100 e-taxis. It was decided to install a solar power system for e-charging stations.
She sought a report on determining more routes for the mass transit system in Gujranwala. She directed to ascertain the routes according to the public convenience. The meeting comprehensively reviewed the issues related to the e-taxi project. She was apprised in the briefing that the Punjab government will provide subsidy in the e-taxi scheme. She also reviewed the proposal to establish charging stations along with petrol pumps.
