First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and Hon’ble Minister for Health & Population Welfare Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho Visit IM&CH Nawabshah
She emphasized the importance of maintaining a state of readiness to safeguard vulnerable populations, particularly women and children, during natural disasters.

Nawabshah, 5 September 2025 — The First Lady, Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, along with the Hon’ble Minister for Health & Population Welfare, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, visited the 450-bedded Institute of Mother & Child Health (IM&CH), Nawabshah, on Friday.
They were received by Dr. Ali Akber Siyal, Executive Director IM&CH, and Dr. Sania Ali Haider, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics. Among other dignitaries present were Dr. Jamal Raza, Executive Director SICHN; Dr. Gulshan Memon, Vice Chancellor PUMHSW; Chairperson and Chairmen of all departments; the Deputy Commissioner and SSP Shaheed Benazirabad; as well as other senior officials.
During their visit, the delegation toured the fully functional Pediatric High Dependency Unit (HDU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with ventilators, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) equipped with incubators and neonatal ventilators, as well as the Gynecology HDU with ventilator support, the Operation Theatre, and the Labour Room. The visit created an opportunity for constructive discussions on strengthening maternal and child healthcare facilities, fostering interdepartmental collaboration, and further enhancing patient care standards.
IM&CH Nawabshah currently serves a large number of patients daily, with 970 outpatients in Pediatrics Medicine OPD, 440 in Gynecology & Obstetrics OPD, and 25 in Pediatric Surgery OPD. The institution plays a vital role in delivering essential healthcare services to women and children in the area.
In addition to healthcare inspections, Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari also reviewed the hospital’s preparedness for floods and emergencies, ensuring that medical facilities remain fully equipped and ready to respond in case of a super flood. She emphasized the importance of maintaining a state of readiness to safeguard vulnerable populations, particularly women and children, during natural disasters.
