LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had a packed schedule in the provincial capital Lahore, attending to both personal condolences and political engagements throughout the day.

 

Accompanied by Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider, the PPP Chairman visited Wattoo House in Model Town to offer his condolences on the passing of former Punjab Chief Minister Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo. He expressed his heartfelt sympathies to the deceased's widow, Parveen Begum, and also conveyed his grief to the sons of the former federal minister — Moazzam Jahanzeb Wattoo, Mian Khurram Jahangir Wattoo and Mian Zeeshan Manzoor Wattoo. Bilawal further extended his condolences to Wattoo's daughters, Rubeena Shaheen Wattoo, Jahan Ara Wattoo, Amina Kasuri, Tabana Shahzad Ali and Ayesha Manzoor Wattoo, offering prayers for the elevation of the soul of the former Speaker of the Punjab Assembly and former PPP Punjab President, and seeking divine patience for the bereaved family. PPP Central Punjab Information Secretary Shahzad Saeed Chema and PPP Lahore President Faisal Mir also offered their condolences to the grieving family on the occasion.

 

Later in the day, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari called on prominent social and business figure Nawab Shahzad Ali Khan at his residence, where he congratulated him on the engagement ceremony of his daughter.

 

The PPP Chairman subsequently visited the residence of MNA and PPP Women's Wing Central Punjab President Samina Khalid Ghurki, where discussions were held on the prevailing political situation in the country. PPP Punjab Assembly Parliamentary Leader Ali Haider Gilani and PPP Lahore leader Ashraf Khan were also present on the occasion.
