LAHORE: A historic motorcycle and car rally was organized in Lahore on the occasion of the 58th Foundation Day of the Pakistan Peoples Party, which started from Liberty Chowk, passed through Sadiq Center, and reached Liberty Roundabout. The public rally was led by senior party leaders Faisal Mir, Dr. Ayesha Shaukat, and Majeed Ghori, while hundreds of party workers including Shahid Abbas Advocate, Arif Zafar, Rao Shujaat, Tahira Jalib, Riaz Jutt, Khurram Farooq, Shahbaz Durani, Muhammad Umar, and Kamran Dar participated enthusiastically in the rally.

 

Lahore Police initially stopped the rally at Liberty checkpoint, however, after negotiations between party leadership and police officials, the rally was allowed to proceed. The workers participating in the rally demonstrated exemplary discipline by keeping the route open for general traffic and avoided any kind of disorder.

 

Addressing the Foundation Day rally, senior Peoples Party leader Faisal Mir severely criticized without naming the Deputy Commissioner and Chief Traffic Officer, stating that the two government pharaohs sitting in Lahore and their cronies should understand very clearly that if they are holding these positions today, it is only because of President Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Faisal Mir further said that the Deputy Commissioner Lahore and Chief Traffic Officer have robbed the pockets of poor people and a series of worst state oppression continues against the poor rickshaw drivers of Lahore.

 

He alleged that displaying pictures of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on vehicles and motorcycles has been declared a crime and rickshaws are being stopped to threaten drivers. Under the guise of challans, money is being forcibly collected from poor rickshaw drivers, their mobile phones are being snatched, and party posters and banners are also being torn down. Faisal Mir said that the Deputy Commissioner and Chief Traffic Officer are deliberately trying to create a rift in the alliance between the PML-N and Peoples Party.

 

He directly questioned Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, asking whether he has become so helpless that he cannot control his subordinate officers. Faisal Mir strongly demanded that the Prime Minister immediately suspend the Deputy Commissioner and Chief Traffic Officer and also suspend the threatening SHOs and conduct a formal inquiry against them. He warned that if Shehbaz Sharif does not remove these oppressive officers, the workers of the Peoples Party will take their resignations themselves.

 

Faisal Mir announced that the Peoples Party will besiege the offices of oppressive officers and particularly hold a historic sit-in in front of the Deputy Commissioner Office and Chief Traffic Officer Office. He demanded that the money and mobile phones of poor rickshaw drivers be returned immediately and this operation to remove Bilawal Bhutto's pictures and stop the membership campaign for local elections be stopped immediately.

 

He alleged in strong words that these people are currently working for Imran Khan by becoming Justice Saqib Nisar and are running a systematic operation to create differences between the Pakistan Peoples Party and PML-N. Faisal Mir said that the Deputy Commissioner and Chief Traffic Officer have become General Faiz Hameed who are conspiring to create discord between the Peoples Party and PML-N. Addressing the rally, Dr. Ayesha Shaukat said that the Pakistan Peoples Party is still the party of the people and will always remain the party of the people because only the Peoples Party raises the real issues of the people and struggles for their resolution. She said that food, clothing, and housing are the most important part of the Peoples Party manifesto and there is an urgent need today for the people to bring the Peoples Party to power by giving it the most votes. She expressed confidence that God willing, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will be the Prime Minister of Pakistan in the future.

 

Majeed Ghori said in his address that praise be to God, we are soldiers of the Peoples Party and this is the party of the common man, laborers, farmers, youth, and tenants. He expressed determination that they will make Bilawal Bhutto Zardari the next Prime Minister of the country and are ready to make every kind of sacrifice for this purpose.
