HINA PARVEZ BUTT VISITS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIM AYESHA AT HER RESIDENCE
Lahore: Chairperson of the Punjab Women Protection Authority and Member of the Provincial Assembly, Ms. Hina Parvez Butt, visited Ayesha, a victim of domestic violence, at her residence in the Kahna area of Gajjumatta. Ayesha was brutally assaulted by her father, Saqib. According to FIR, the incident occurred on the morning of April 26 at 7:00 AM, when Saqib, during an argument, threw a boiling pot of tea on his 19-year-old daughter Ayesha, causing severe burns to her neck and back. He then pushed her onto the stove. When Ayesha's mother and sister, Jaweria, tried to intervene, they were also assaulted and had their clothes torn. The family has expressed fear for their lives and appealed for legal action.
Chairperson Hina Parvez Butt expressed full solidarity with the victim and her family, assuring them that the Punjab Women Protection Authority will play an active role in ensuring justice. She directed the police authorities to take immediate action and emphasized that, in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, violence against women will not be tolerated under any circumstances. She stated that the state will ensure maximum protection and justice for women subjected to domestic abuse, and such cruel individuals will be brought to justice.
