Clashes erupt as police crackdown on grand health alliance protest in Lahore
Grand Health Alliance workers later relocated their protest from CM House to road near Club Chowk on Mall Road
Lahore: Police launched a crackdown on members of the Grand Health Alliance protesting in front of the Chief Minister's House, arresting several individuals.
On the 23rd day of their sit-in, the protesters marched toward the Chief Minister’s House. They removed barriers and blockades, moving from Charing Cross to the CM House. Clashes broke out when police tried to stop them.
Police began forcefully detaining protesters, dragging them into prison vans. Protesters attacked a police vehicle in response. During the scuffle, two people were injured, and a police officer's uniform was torn.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran stated that the protesters attempted to break the GOR gate, which is why they were pushed back. He confirmed that those arrested had since been released.
