PPP Leader Chaudhry Manzoor Joins Grand Health Alliance Protest Against Privatization of Health Institutions
Lahore:Members of the Grand Health Alliance continued their sit-in protest in front of the Punjab Assembly on Tuesday, demanding an end to the privatization of health institutions. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Chaudhry Manzoor joined the demonstrators, expressing strong opposition to the government's policies.
Addressing the protesters, Chaudhry Manzoor criticized the provincial administration, stating, *"The poor were receiving treatment from rural health centers, but now the government wants to take even that away."* He accused the government of incompetence, saying, *"These actions prove that running the province is beyond their capability."*
Taking a swipe at Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Manzoor remarked, *"Opening Maryam Nawaz's clinic would be a ridiculous move instead of strengthening public healthcare."* He further condemned the government's failures, adding, *"The poor were getting relief, but this administration is determined to snatch that too."*
Manzoor also highlighted broader governance issues, stating, *"The government is failing to manage the agriculture, education, and health systems, leaving the public in distress."*
The Grand Health Alliance, comprising healthcare workers and employees, has vowed to continue its protest until the government reverses its privatization plans.
