CCPO LAHORE URGES POLICE OFFICERS TO ADOPT OPEN DOOR POLICY FOR SWIFT JUSTICE TO PETITIONERS
Lahore: The traditional culture of police stations has been transformed into public service centers, providing relief to the citizens through people-friendly initiatives by the police department.
In a statement issued today, CCPO Lahore, Bilal Siddique Kamyana, highlighted the significant role of the Complaint Cell in addressing citizens' concerns. According to the Lahore Police spokesman, the Complaint Cell at the Capital City Police Headquarters has received 3,083 applications this year. Of these, 2,745 have been resolved while action is ongoing on the remaining 338.
The spokesman further shared that 31 applications received through the Chief Minister's portal resulted in the resolution of 30 cases, with the remaining one under process. Additionally, of the 1,147 applicants visiting the CCPO office for issue resolution, 1,000 requests have been handled with action being taken on 147 others. Furthermore, 1,905 applications received by post have seen action taken on 1,715, with the remaining 190 under review.
CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana emphasized that the Complaint Cell is continuously working to resolve public issues and ensure timely justice. He instructed police officers to adopt an open-door policy to facilitate quick delivery of justice to petitioners. He also stressed prioritizing applications from vulnerable individuals, such as the elderly, disabled, minorities, and women.
Treat the citizens with respect as it is our responsibility to provide justice and support to the oppressed, he concluded.
