KARACHI:  The National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC), Pakistan's leading ICT service provider, concluded its participation in the three-day 28th ITCN Asia 2026 exhibition, held at the Karachi Expo Centre from September 22 to 24, showcasing its in-house digital solutions while spearheading a national-level dialogue on infrastructure neutrality to strengthen the country's ICT ecosystem.

 

Managing Director NTC, Maj Gen (R) Ali Farhan, HI (M), attended as Guest of Honor at the inauguration ceremony of the event. Stationed at Hall 2 throughout the exhibition, NTC presented its cutting-edge, locally developed products and briefed industry professionals, technology leaders and visitors on its broad portfolio of ICT services, drawing a strong and positive response from stakeholders across the three-day event.

 

Speaking at the inauguration as Guest of Honor, Maj Gen (R) Ali Farhan underlined the importance of resilient ICT infrastructure in driving Pakistan's digital transformation, noting that dependable digital services rely on strong optical fibre networks, data centres, uninterrupted power supply and robust cybersecurity systems. He also spoke about NTC's role in advancing sovereign computing infrastructure, data sovereignty, cybersecurity, cloud services and the broader development of Pakistan's digital ecosystem.

 

As a centerpiece of its participation, NTC organized a national-level roundtable titled "Neutrality of ICT Infrastructure to Support Digital Connectivity in a Cost-Effective Manner," bringing together technology experts, policymakers, industry representatives and academics to explore ways of building secure, resilient and cost-effective digital infrastructure across Pakistan.

 

Maj Gen (R) Ali Farhan opened the session by outlining its context and objectives, delivered the keynote address, and subsequently chaired the roundtable discussion, which focused on the need for shared and efficient ICT infrastructure capable of supporting the country's expanding digital demands. The session brought together expert voices from government, industry, academia and the wider technology sector, with discussions spanning emerging technologies, the national Cloud-First Policy, sovereign network control, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies and the infrastructure needs of a resilient digital economy. The roundtable concluded with an open discussion and question-and-answer session, followed by closing remarks from the Managing Director that centered on actionable recommendations and a policy roadmap for stakeholders moving forward.

 

On the sidelines of the exhibition, NTC also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Port Qasim Authority (PQA) aimed at strengthening Pakistan's digital future through advanced ICT solutions. The partnership will cover dedicated internet services, secure network connectivity, cybersecurity solutions, cloud and data centre services, unified communications and enterprise digital infrastructure.

 

NTC's participation at ITCN Asia 2026 reflected its ongoing engagement with Pakistan's evolving digital landscape and its efforts to foster meaningful dialogue around the country's ICT infrastructure development. The event gave the Corporation an important platform to connect with industry stakeholders, technology experts, policymakers and academics, while highlighting fresh opportunities for collaboration and innovation across the sector. Through such engagements, NTC continues to build partnerships across the ICT ecosystem and support efforts toward secure, accessible, resilient and cost-effective digital connectivity nationwide.

 

The national-level roundtable featured a distinguished panel of speakers, including Maj Gen (R) Ali Farhan, HI (M), Managing Director of NTC; Dr. Shoab Ahmed Khan, Founder and CEO of CARE (Pvt.) Ltd and Chairman of PASHA; Syed Zeeshan Ali, Founder and CEO of DataVault (Pvt.) Ltd; Jamil Ur Rehman, Senior General Manager (IT) and CTIO at Sui Southern Gas Company; Syed Ayaz Ali, Senior Enterprise Account Manager at TP-Link for the UAE and Pakistan; and Muhammad Jawad Paracha, Master Inventor and AI Accelerators Delivery Leader at IBM.

 

NTC's presence at the exhibition was further supported by its strategic business, marketing, public relations, digital communication and social media outreach efforts. Dr. Ayesha Ali, Director of Public Relations at NTC, who oversees the Corporation's public relations and digital communication initiatives, played a key role in strengthening NTC's digital visibility and its engagement with technology stakeholders and the broader public throughout the event.
