PPP Lahore Organizational Meeting
Announcement to Appoint 22,000 New Office-Bearers in Three Months, Accountability Process to Begin as Well
LAHORE: The Pakistan Peoples Party Lahore held an organizational and introductory meeting at the Model Town Secretariat, which was attended by a large number of office-bearers and workers from the Model Town organization. The event was hosted by PPP Lahore President Faisal Mir.
Among those present at the meeting were Khurram Farooq, Shahid Abbas Kazmi, Majid Ghouri, Asjad Malik, Hassan Abbas, Ahmad Ghaman, Nabil Nasir, Naeem Sohail Butt, Waheed Lodhi, and Nadeem Butt, along with a great many workers. During the event, Faisal Mir formally introduced the Lahore Division organization, while Afraz Naqvi introduced the Model Town organization.
Speaking on the occasion, PPP Lahore President Faisal Mir announced that twenty-two thousand new office-bearers would be appointed across Lahore within the next three months, and that one hundred and ten new office-bearers would also be appointed across the ten towns of Lahore. He stated that membership forms and boxes would be provided to all towns, and that the membership drive would be required to be completed within three weeks.
Faisal Mir further said that the towns would be audited every week and informed of any shortcomings. After three weeks, a decision would be made regarding the future of those office-bearers who either met or failed to meet their targets. He made it clear that accountability of organizational office-bearers would begin twenty-one days after the launch of the membership campaign. Faisal Mir expressed his determination to fully realize President Asif Ali Zardari's vision of achieving one percent membership in every city.
Shahid Abbas Advocate, Majid Ghouri, and Afraz Naqvi also addressed the gathering and expressed their commitment to strengthening the organization.
