DARGAI (December 15, 2025 Press Release) In commemoration of the life and enduring legacy of Shaheed Advocate Khalid Khan Khattak, his family has announced the establishment of a foundation dedicated to upholding the values he so faithfully embodied, most notably, the promotion of an educated and peaceful society.

Shaheed Advocate Khalid Khan Khattak, President of the Dargai Bar Association, was tragically assassinated on August 28, 2025, near his native village in Malakand District. While a Joint Investigation Team and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) continue to investigate the case, the perpetrators of this heinous crime have yet to be brought to justice.

Khalid Khattak was far more than a respected lawyer. His martyrdom has deprived Dargai and Malakand District of one of the most trusted peacemakers. He was a passionate advocate for education, particularly female education, a pillar of peace and reconciliation who healed divisions and reunited fractured families, a tireless voice for the oppressed, and a rare soul who exemplified selfless service until his final breath.

The martyrdom of Khalid Khattak is not only a profound personal loss for his family; it is a clarion call to confront the culture of guns, violence, and impunity. In response, his family has chosen to transform their grief into a force for good by establishing a foundation in his name.

The Shaheed Khalid Khattak Foundation will carry forward his lifelong commitment to community service by:

-          Providing scholarships to poor and deserving students, enabling them to build a better future through education; and

-          Offering financial assistance to those in need, extending support to families facing hardship.

We call upon his fellow members of the legal fraternity of Malakand, civil society, and conscientious public officials to stand in solidarity with us.
