Mariyam Nafees criticised for pregnancy look in Christmas reel
Video sparks wave of criticism from some of her followers

Pakistani actress Mariyam Nafees - known for her roles in hit dramas such as Neem, Munafiq, Kamzarf, and Diyar-e-Dil - is once again at the center of controversy, following the release of her latest Instagram reel.
Currently on holiday in London with her husband, Amaan Ahmed, Mariyam Nafees shared a festive reel with her followers, celebrating the upcoming Christmas season.
The video, which was posted on her Instagram, shows the actress strolling through London's lively streets, shopping for accessories like shoes, jewelry, and purses. In the video, Nafees also wished her fans a "Merry Christmas" before clinking two glasses in a cheerful moment.
However, the video has sparked a wave of criticism from some of her followers. A section of her fanbase expressed disapproval over her "Merry Christmas" wish, pointing out the cultural and religious differences that may not resonate well with everyone. Others were concerned about her outfit, with some noting that she was wearing a form-fitting black western dress, which revealed her baby bump.
The criticism escalated when fans raised concerns about the actress wearing high heels during her pregnancy. Some users questioned the safety of such footwear in her condition, while others found the overall presentation of the reel to be "inappropriate" given her pregnancy.
In response to the backlash, Mariyam Nafees addressed a few of the critical comments on her post, clarifying her stance. "It's a holiday season, and I wanted to share a moment of joy with my followers. I respect all opinions, but this is a personal choice," she wrote in one reply.
Despite the negative comments, Nafees continues to enjoy her time in London, where she is also documenting her experiences through pictures and videos.
