Nonthaburi – The Thailand-China Cooperation Expo 2025 officially opened on Friday at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, commemorating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations. The three-day event, held under the theme “50 Years of Thailand-China Relations: Advancing Together”, brought together entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers to deepen bilateral cooperation and showcase Thailand’s role as a regional hub for trade and innovation.

Delivering the keynote address, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul hailed the half-century of enduring Thai-Chinese friendship, noting that both countries have built a strong foundation in trade, investment, and cultural ties. He stressed that the partnership now has the potential to drive regional prosperity in an era defined by technological advancement and sustainable development.

Unveiling a five-pronged cooperation strategy, Anutin identified the following priority areas:

  1. Infrastructure and Connectivity – advancing projects like the Thailand–China high-speed rail and boosting logistics through the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).

  2. Green Economy and Clean Energy – fostering collaboration in electric vehicles, batteries, and sustainable production under a new five-year cooperation plan (2025–2031).

  3. Digital Technology and Innovation – building a cross-border digital platform for finance, AI research, and SMEs to access new markets.

  4. Agriculture and Food Security – strengthening collaboration to ensure supply stability and innovation in the agri-food sector.

  5. People-to-People Exchanges – promoting cultural, educational, and tourism initiatives to deepen mutual understanding.

“Thailand seeks not only to be China’s economic partner but also a springboard for regional cooperation,” Anutin said, pledging regulatory reforms to attract investors and positioning Thailand as a gateway for ASEAN-China economic integration.

The expo featured over 200 enterprises from both countries, with 1,200 booths spanning 25,000 square meters. A highlight was the signing of 32 MoUs involving 56 Thai and Chinese companies, covering sectors such as clean energy, digital trade, logistics, and advanced agriculture. Organizers emphasized that the event aimed to deliver tangible business outcomes through dedicated supply chain forums and business matching sessions.

In addition to trade and investment, the expo placed strong emphasis on human capital development, offering over 500 scholarships from leading Thai and Chinese universities and more than 3,000 job opportunities in high-demand fields.

The Thailand-China Cooperation Expo 2025, jointly organized by the Thai-Chinese Trade Mechanism, concluded on September 28, positioning both nations to “march toward shared prosperity” and setting the stage for a new chapter in bilateral cooperation.
