Lahore, September 7, 2025 — Pakistan Peoples Party Minority Leader Khalid Gill has written a letter to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, requesting his appointment as President of PPP Lahore.

In the letter, Gill highlighted his “mass contacts” and a “strategic plan” to enhance the party’s membership in Lahore, stating that he has the ability to “reach the unreached” and strengthen the party’s structure in the city.

“I am more than capable than others to make a strong structure in Lahore because I am having mass contacts. I have a strategic plan to enhance membership of PPP because I know the art of reach to unreached,” the letter read.

Gill further emphasized his lifelong loyalty to the party, writing that he left Canada on March 23, 2023, out of his “deepest love for PPP and Bilawal Bhutto.”

He requested the party leadership to appoint him as PPP Lahore President in place of Ch. Muhammad Aslam Gill, who resigned after the 2024 General Elections.

The letter was addressed not only to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari but also copied to Senior Vice Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, Central General Secretary Engr. Hamayun Khan, Central Punjab President Raja Pervez Ashraf, Central Punjab GS Syed Hassan Murtaza, Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Hyder, and Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi.

Khalid Gill concluded his appeal by reaffirming his patriotism and lifelong commitment as a “born Jiyala” of the PPP.
