Thailand Welcomes New Leadership Under Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul

Bangkok, September 5, 2025 – The House of Representatives has officially elected Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, as the 32nd Prime Minister of Thailand.
Education and Early Career
Born into a family with strong business and political roots, Anutin received his early education at Assumption College in Bangkok, graduating in 1984. The following year, he continued his studies at Worcester Academy in Massachusetts, USA. In 1989, he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Hofstra University in New York.
Anutin began his professional career the same year as a Production Engineer at Mitsubishi Corporation in New York. He later returned to Thailand, where he worked as a technical analyst at the Industrial Finance Corporation of Thailand before joining the Sino-Thai Group. Rising through the ranks, he became Managing Director of Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction Public Company Limited, a role he held from 1995 to 2004.
Political Career
Anutin entered public service in the early 2000s and has since held several key cabinet positions. These include:
Deputy Minister of Public Health (2004; 2005–2006)
Deputy Minister of Commerce (2004–2005)
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health (2019–2023)
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior (since September 2023)
Throughout his political career, he has been recognized for policies that combine economic pragmatism with a strong focus on public welfare, particularly in healthcare and infrastructure development.
Beyond Politics
Outside his political life, Anutin is also known as a businessman and philanthropist. He volunteers as a pilot under the Flying Heart Project, providing air transport support for humanitarian initiatives.
As Thailand’s new Prime Minister, Anutin has pledged to uphold accountability, democratic principles, and policies aimed at improving the quality of life for all citizens. His leadership is expected to bring both continuity and reform, with an emphasis on economic growth, healthcare, and inclusive development.
