Petition filed in Supreme Court for national grand dialogue
As per petition, Imran Khan should be allowed to participate in dialogue via video link

A constitutional petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking a national grand dialogue under the court’s supervision to address political and economic challenges in the country.
The petition, submitted by Peshawar-based engineer Qazi Muhammad Saleem, names key political figures, including PTI Founder Imran Khan, PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, and the Ministry of Law, as parties to the case.
Call for national reconciliation
The petitioner argues that the Supreme Court should facilitate a structured dialogue between the country’s major political leaders to formulate a national reconciliation plan aimed at ensuring political stability and economic progress.
As per the petition, Imran Khan, currently in jail, should be allowed to participate in the dialogue via video link. It says the leaders of three major political parties could resolve the issues through effective negotiations.
Political efforts for dialogue
The plea highlights past attempts at political reconciliation, including the prime minister’s offer to form a parliamentary committee for negotiations with PTI. However, direct talks have remained difficult due to the PTI founder’s imprisonment.
The petition also refers to a recent meeting between the chief justice of Pakistan and a political delegation, which failed to produce a concrete resolution. It asserts that only a Supreme Court-supervised dialogue can pave the way for political consensus and national reconciliation.
