Punjab Minority Affairs Minister Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora Calls for Full Inclusion of Minorities in Economic Growth
“The Lahore Chamber has always championed human rights and equal economic opportunities for all,”

LAHORE, May 15, 2025: Punjab’s Minister for Minority Affairs, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, declared that ensuring the participation of minority communities is essential for achieving rapid economic stability. Addressing a special ceremony at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry on Wednesday, he underscored the government’s commitment to empowering minorities and integrating them fully into the province’s economic framework.
On the occasion, Lahore Chamber President Mian Abuzar Shad, Senior Vice President Engineer Khalid Usman, Vice President Shahid Nazir Choudhry, former Senior Vice President Ali Husam Asghar, and Human Rights for Minorities Standing Committee Convener Saleem Shakir also spoke. The event highlighted a shared resolve to promote interfaith harmony, empower minority entrepreneurs, and bolster economic inclusion.
“Minorities play a pivotal role in Pakistan’s development,” Sardar Arora remarked. “They must be fully engaged in economic policymaking, trade, and business growth.” He added that the government is determined to eliminate barriers and provide tailored facilities for minority businesspersons to flourish.
Praising Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s minority-friendly policies, Sardar Arora said, “Under her leadership, a tolerant and inclusive society is emerging—one that reflects Quaid‑e‑Azam’s vision for Pakistan.” He also lauded the global Sikh community for its unwavering support of Pakistan and reaffirmed that the country’s armed forces safeguard the rights of every citizen, regardless of faith.
In his address, Lahore Chamber President Mian Abuzar Shad expressed pride that dozens of Christians and Sikhs are active members of the Chamber, contributing substantially to the nation’s economic and social progress. “The Lahore Chamber has always championed human rights and equal economic opportunities for all,” he noted, applauding the appointment of a capable politician like Sardar Arora to oversee minority affairs.
Vice President Shahid Nazir Choudhry urged the government and business community to jointly include all segments of society—especially the underprivileged—in Pakistan’s development trajectory.
The ceremony concluded with participants paying tribute to Sardar Arora’s efforts in fostering interfaith harmony, social solidarity, and protecting minority rights. In a show of national unity, attendees also formed a human chain in solidarity with Pakistan’s armed forces.
